knitter's remorse

so, rather than starting my project by swatching to determine what might make the best background color, i got almost half-way through the first mitt before deciding that the purple might make the best 'main color' (cuff and background for the pattern).

i jumped 3' ahead in the yarn and made a mini-swatch of the pattern to determine if i should start over, and though the blue pops out nicely against a purple background, i still prefer the way i already have it. and as you can see, i started dropping stitches there at the end of the swatch- a sure sign that i was on the right track in the first place.
