Barack the Vote

This post is going to be somewhat redundant for any 'regular' readers, as I'm sure that 99% of you already have voted or are planning to vote later today, but I saw this video this morning via Chicken Knits, and wanted to share it.

There was a woman at the gym last night talking to another gym rat about how she wasn't going to vote because she didn't think it'd matter either way. And it was all I could do not to throw a dumbell at her and tell her that if she'd like to test that theory she should go and vote for Obama today and see what happens.

I was also kind of upset with my coworker who told me last week that she could come in early today because she wasn't going to vote anyway, and I'd already told her that I might be late because I wasn't coming to work UNTIL I'd cast my ballot. It strikes me as irresponsible not to have a say in the future of your country and the direction it takes, especially when you already have children (as she does) that you will one day hand control over to. The only thing stopping me from PUSHING HER out the door to go home and vote is that I believe the same ignorance that leads her to think it doesn't matter is the same ignorance that would have her voting for McCain once she got into the booth.

So yeah, if you're gonna vote McCain- listen to the video and Don't Vote. My vote counts for more when there are less McCain votes to be cancelled out.

And here is the rest of it.

If you've been living in this country for the last 2 years, you have to KNOW how important this is. It's going to be such an exciting day. I'm not just interested in the president. There are lots of propositions that I'm worried about. It's going to be an amazing day.
