Now all I can think about is the beach, and if I'll get to one before September when my parents' condo becomes available in North Carolina. In the meantime, I'm considering bringing the beach to me using my crafty prowess and some lovely beaded silk yarn I purchased at Knitting in La Jolla just last Friday.
I just might have to try my hand at the Morning Surf Scarf (Rav Link) from Heartstrings Fiber Arts. The yarn reminds me of shallow tide pools and seaweed, and the stitch pattern looks like undulating waves, so I hope the two together will be a perfect match. My favorite example that I've seen so far on Ravelry belongs to FoxinSox (Rav Link), as seen in the beauuuutiful photos below.
I'm still undecided, since I also purchased a pattern for a short-sleeved mini-cardigan designed for Artyarns Silk, but this scarf is so alluring that I might have to save the pattern for something else. I've also considered using the Morning Surf stitch pattern for a baby blanket using some Three Irish Girls Adorn Sock I have in the stash, so we'll see which project wins out first.

Now I really want to go to the beach! I love that scarf pattern. So gorgeous.
And what's the beaded silk???? I'm drooling over here!
it's Artyarns Beaded silk! (Here in my stash on Ravelry.) I got a really cute pattern for a lacy bolero (written for Artyarns Beaded Silk & Sequins) because i wanted something more substantial than a scarf. looking forward to starting that project!
